Agriculture Ministry: Russia to export meat, ice cream to Morocco

MOSCOW, Oct 11 (PRIME) -- Russia plans to expand exports of its agricultural products to Morocco, and will export not just wheat, but meat, ice cream, and other products as well, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement late on Tuesday quoting Minister Alexander Tkachyov as saying.

“No only higher of volumes are important, diversification of the geography of exports and the range of goods is also important. We are ready to supply not just wheat to Morocco, but sunflower oil, confectionery goods, sugar, meat products, and ice cream,” the ministry quoted Tkachyov as saying.

Russia will remain one of major suppliers of soft wheat to Morocco. In 2016, the country exported 735,000 tonnes of wheat worth U.S. $116 million to Morocco, with a combined exports of agricultural products rising 50% to $530 million in the year, the ministry said.
